How much of a performance increase will i see?

Gigabyte Geforce 7200 GT vs XFX 6800 XT ?

I bought the 7200 from newegg for a new computer, a friend says he will give me his old one if i buy him lunch (Taco Bell)

Is it worth it?

Thanks!

both those cards are not very good for gaming, save up and buy an ATI 3850 or a Nvidia 9600GT ( being released this week hopfully)

if i remember correctly, the 6800 XT is roughly equal to an 6600. it should be a little better than the 7200 but not by much

I'm not really looking to buy a card, don't game all that much so I can't justify buying a $50 plus card

so i take it the upgrade to a XFX 6800 XT is worth $10 ?

Probably. Generally, it's a better idea to go with last generation's mid range card than the new generation's low end card. A FX 5900 beats a 6200, a 6600GT beats a 7200, etc.

On the other hand, you can always shop around for a 6800GT, 6800 Ultra, 7900GS, 7900GTO, etc. Those were all pretty decent cards, and shouldn't break the bank if you find one used.
