Hi,
I got a bit bored today, and decided to give my case a good clean out.
So i took it apart, fully, including PSU.
Cleaned out the dust from the fans, CPU HS, GPU HS, everywhere else.
Put everything back it, tidying up each cable as i went, and my temps dropped from about 45*c idle to 37*c.
What a difference.

If you`ve got a bit of spare time on your hands, then i highly reccommend doing the above.

yea i once dropped a couple degrees too, dust was filling the heatsink fins. now i just use furnace filters, the dust that gets in is very fine, doesn't do much.

house filters?

i've found two working types.. thin black foam ac filter sheets from home depot. probably the same stuff as the pc case fan filters they sell. just tape em or whatever over the fans. its 99cents for a couple square feet. i use 1/2" thick washable furnace filter i tape on the outside of the case where my intakes are. its rather ghetto but it works:) if you want looks, either go with internal foam filters or those premade aluminum mesh ones.. but those cost more.

haha yeah. I just recently cleaned out my case too. I didn't take note of the temp drop but I'm sure it was significant. Took a can of compressed air and cleaned it out.

Yep.

Animals?

Smoker? ( Toker ) ;)
It was`nt actually that dirty, it just had`nt been done for a while. I dont smoke, and i dont let my cat anywhere near my rig.
Another thing that might had made a difference was re-seating the HS (SLK-800) and applying new thermal paste. Only just remembered! lol.

ooooooh....fancy. lol.
I just used a few slightly damp cloths on the case and the fans, and on the HS and components, a hoover.
