How much of a bottleneck would a Sempron 2400

Would that be a pointless VC upgrade? Also, does having only DDR ram on that VC hurt it's future performance in games substantially?

depends on what card your going from, but a 6800 vanilla should be fine, higher resolutions can be limited by cpu but if your playing at 1024x768 or 1280x1024 you should be able to turn on some aa/af
