How much obligation does a billing provider have for CC fraud?

One of my credit cards was recently compromised, & about $100 in porn was charged to it. The card's cancelled, & the billing provider has been notified. They are going to initiate a charge back for the amount that was originally charged.

They won't give me any info on the transaction (namely the IP address it came from), they pretty much said if I want anything I need to go hassle the local police to get the info for me.

If I can prove that they were negligent, would I have any kind of recourse (civil)? What would determine negligence? Without going and actually signing up for the site, is there any way I can tell what info was obtained/verified?

They've seriously pissed me off, especially I called a second time & they asked me for my member ID on the site AFTER I had explained that I'd never signed up for it.

How can I make them miserable?

that onoly affexts the webmaster and thier pocketbook. The billing company itself does not host content.

Their concern is the customer has access to the content.

It was my CitiBank Sony Mastercard, on the original CitiBank number.

The card has since been bought out by BankOne (as a VISA), & then combined with my existing BankOne Amazon VISA.

He actually works for one of these billing companies. Not the one I'm out to screw, but one of their competitors.

They deem it to high a risk.

even though third party companies are require to keep charge back rates 1% or lower by the other CC companies. VISA will even charge adult sites a registration fee to even process with them.
