since getting back to college i went 2 weeks between a work out and it's also hard to get my hands on any decent meat to eat. so after 2 weeks i go to the gym today to find i have lost 3lb of probably all muscle! i only weigh 140 so this is a lot. if i weigh 140 how much muscle weight should i have total?

losing 3lbs is totally normal. It's not really all muscle. Alot of it is probably water weight which kidna is muscle but i'm sure if you havn't been eating as much its fat stores also. There's nothing to worry about. Taking two weeks off sometimes is good altho you should still keep up your diet only compensating total calories for intake/output. Anyway you'll gain it all back fast enough... dont worry

Weight fluctuation is normal, when I wake up in the morning I'm usually 3 to 5 pounds lighter than the night before. All it it is water.

<-- 18yrs, 5'9", 160lbs ... when I go to the gym I fluctuate between 160 and 165, depending on what time of day I go, what I eat/drink before I go, etc. You're fine.

Its water. You would be hard pushed to lose 3lbs of muscle in 2 weeks.

Did you weigh yourself at the same time?

I drop 5lbs easy between morning and evening........

well the thing is i never fluctuate more than like half a pound...and i always work out at the same time, and eat a certain time before. and i didn't take a crap for a day or two =D so i've never ever weighed myself even without eating and being that light. BTW, i am 5'8" and bruce lee cut =D (or was, gotta get the shoulders back now..i can feel the bones again)

The ONLY way to know is to have an accurate bodyfat reading and calculate the ratio of lean to fat mass. You can look skinny, weigh only a little and still have lots and lots of fat.

Damn, you guys are scrawny mofos.
I'm 5'10" / 185lb and I'm one of the smaller guys in my group of friends.
Most of them are 5'11" and 200lb+
I think I only have one friend lighter than me, he's 5'11" and 145lb.
