How much money/work to install a dishwasher?

Looking at getting a dish washer for my apartment, we dont have one right now, sears has soem decent ones for around 188,

any idea how much it would cost for a first time dishwasher install or if I could do it myself

You could do it yourself if you have plumbing knowledge, if not I highly suggest you hire a plumber and get him to install it. Otherwise, when you turn your dishwasher on. Your going to drown whoever is under it

I have family that does, they should be able to help me, i know my dad installed ours at the old house

The hardest part is finding a power source. Then it's just a matter of hooking up the water supply, and the drain. It's not real tough, but unless you have done this type of thing before, it's going to take a while.

It would be much easier if you already have a garbage disposal. The power is already there, and many disposals have a hook up for a dishwasher drain.

Dude, it's an apartment. Are they going to let you tear out a cabinet to install a dishwasher???

Get a girlfriend/wife. Sure it'll cost you more in the long run, but you won't have to worry about installation 😉 😛.
