I've spent $40 total in the last six weeks, but $20 in the past week. And I need to refill it now too. It's so addictive and easy. The funny thing is, I know it is rediculously cheap and still I spend too much money. Man, these guys have it all figured out ;( It's like a free highway robbery for them

and if you didnt know, many music labels just had a judgement against them for 50 million dollars or something like that to pay to artistis because they wouldnt pay the royalities due to them. Everyone in this industry is a crook, if allofmp3 actiualy does get some money to the artist, fine but I am not going to waste my time tracking down wheter or not they do or not. The goddamn us labels dont even give up the money so even if i bought the cd from a tower records i have no idea if they are gonna get the money.
 
on a related note, what format do you guys get? Ive always gotten 192 MP3 but Ive been thinking about starting my collection with something else... any suggestions?

from allofmp3 i get 320 cbr 2 pass wma9

when i rip my own cds i use lossless
 
Also wondering what the best format would be to use there, I've gotten a few very sub-par tracks that were supposedly ripped 'directly' from a cd. My itunes and p2p music sounds better most of the time (?!).
 
Too bad my Ipod doesn't play WMA, Ameesh. When is MS going to come out with an ipod killer that integrates natively into Windows?
 
I get 192 KBs MP3. WMA doesn't play on my iPod, and I see no need to get AAC files when there really isn't a significant quality difference between MP3 and AAC at a given bitrate.

Yeah, I'd get WMA as well but currently the MP3 changer in my car won't handle them.

$10. i was curious and wanted to try them out. I do 192kbps lame -aps.

but i think that is all they get from me. i don't really believe they could be a legit company... but all this talk about the RIAA pushing for itunes (and online music in general) to jack up prices... i don't like that either.
