How much money have you embezzled so far in your career?

Does stealing washer fluid and using their cleaning supplies on my own car count? Doesn't bother me since we all do it and its not exactly a secret.

i have a very large chain and nylon sling from work that they had to pitch because it is more than a year old.... 35 000 lb strength when used vertical. heck of a tow strap for the jeep.

A couple of books on project management.

Probably $100 or so I falsified on my time submission report thing. Everyone else was doing it, so I wasn't the first. And I didn't do it until they began fucking up my hours.

Few bolts, nuts and washers not to mention a few pens/pencils. Maybe a few Ethernet cables but not sure now. Nothing at my current position.

Besides using the printers/ink for my own personal use every once in awhile, can't really think of anything. Maybe a few office supplies here and there.

I don't get to handle teh moneyz.

IMO, there's a big difference between "embezzlement" and "hi-grading," as my Father-in-Law used to call it...Both are stealing...can't argue that, but at the same time...they're different.

Me, a roll of duct tape, a can of WD40, maybe a partial can of spray paint...oh...and a few old nylon hoisting slings that were too worn out for crane service. Good for tow straps, and would have been cut up and tossed into the trash.

When I was laid off from construction work one year I got a job at Wendy's. I would make myself a huge burger and run into the bathroom and scarf it down in about 30 seconds. My piddly check barely covered the rent so whatever food I could scrounge while working my shifts was all I ate that whole winter.

In retrospect I should have just demanded a handout from the government and then complained when I didn't get one.

My work notepads usually wound up half notes, half architectural sketches that were a result of me being bored in meetings. Does that count?

Never taken money or goods. Maybe some post it notes?

I have dived my employers dumpsters though (with permission of my boss).
I've gotten anything from a set of golf clubs w/ about 200 golf balls to antique telephones (manufactured in 1910), to boxes to use for moving, to some "expired" (2 years old) climbing helmets.

I was doing very well. 4 or 5 years skimming pennies into a Swiss bank account and no one was the wiser. According to my fool proof plan, in 10 years I'll check the Balance to see what I got. Unfortunately I got fired in 2008, fuck you AIG!!
