in my opinion? $70,000 is doing pretty well. Most people would disagree with me though...most people who grew up in the US, at any rate.

Enough to get your GF6800 and still have enough money to buy some rice. :D

Varies somewhat between cities, in my opinion.

>$75,000 if you're single
>$150,000 for a family

Those are my rough guidelines anyway. Where you live is also a big factor (I'm in the midwest, so my numbers are based on that).

depends where you live. my parents make about 200K combined in the NYC suburbs, and I've always considered them to be well-off.

I live pretty good at 15-25 a year. The year I made about 30 was awesome, with tons of play money. Then again, I live quite simply and have no debt. I've figured that I actually only NEED about 1200 a month to live, though I prefer twice that so I can build savings, invest, have play money, etc. I've decided that if I ever make anything over 4000 a month it goes entirely to charities...there's simply nothing I can imagine doing with that much money.

that's about where I am right now... my take-home is about $2K a month. rent and utilities are less than $800, which leaves the rest for toys and savings.

I can't imagine that anyone would consider me well-off based on salary alone, but I live pretty well.
