What is your financial snapshot basically....

I feel a little beaten right now, and I wonder if it's because I'm spending too much, or if my situation is pretty common for my age.

I've managed to save about 8K so far. I've been working since October 03 making 80K a year. I have a carnote for my Altima... was renting a 1 bedroom apartment in arlington VA, have been paying on about 50K in student debts.

-Max

Edit: before Nov 04 I was making 70K... since then I've been making 80k

Uh lesse...I've been out of school and working since '02 roughly, making about 26-32K a year (I work on commish, so it can vary pretty widely), paying off student loans and renting a 2bdrm here in VT ($1000/month with utilities), I got about $6500 in the bank right now.

But I don't spend an awful lot, I'm pretty frugal, and I try to not go out much if I can help it.

n/m that, just found a check from my insurance company in the mail for $4300, so I've actually got just shy of $11k in my checking right now. But I will be blowing about $4k of that in the next oh, 3 weeks, so realistically I still have only $6500 :(

Oh btw, I finally settled on a ring, so thanks for your input a while back on it :)

I'm sure that ring doesn't help much either. Once you get married.... 2 incomes. Ching. Save away.

I have around 2k in one account and around $500 in another. I only work during the summer so annual income is around 9k.

I have a full ride to school so only thing I pay for are books, food, gas and vehicle.

I'm 21 and have been working the same job since Junior year of high school. I have an ING savings acct with about $600 and my checking is nearly empty right now.

I also received $12,000 from a trust fund but promptly blew most of it on my car. The $5,000 that's left is in a CD with a crappy rate but it has earned nearly $400 in interest thus far.

I'm definietly behind in saving because of my car and computer spending problems.

I have a fair amount in the bank that I expect to be completely wiped out in the next few years after engagement ring/wedding/downpayment on house all become reality.

I had quite a bit, but then I bought a house and got married, and now my bank account is pretty empty.

I'm 17, I've been making $90k/year for the past year working as head of engineering at an aerospace company. Between that and my investments, I've managed to put away about $100,000. I know, I should be doing better than that, but I couldn't help but buy that Ferrari. I'm so bad with money.

Most of my money is in 401k and private investments. I have less than $10k in my savings account. Been working full time for a little over 4 years now. And I like to spend money.

Graduated in 2002. Paid off $20,000 in student loans in 03. Now about at $15,000 again in ING.

So poor! I want to buy a condo and a Ferrari too. :(
