I just picked up a IBM Thinkpad R31. It only has 128 megs of memory. What do you think, another stick of 128 or 256. I will be running these office apps, usually all at the same time.

Word, Excel, Outlook, ACT, WinFax, Crystal Reports

thanks

how many expansion memory slots does it have?
some laptops only have one so to upgrade you have to remove the ram which is already in & replace it with one of a higher Mb value!

It has two so that's not a problem.

Anybody know of a better place to buy laptop memory? I can get a 128 of Cruical for $39, 256 for $89 or 512 for $129.

Make sure it doesn't have 2 64s right now, thats how my brother's IBM was setup and he had to dump one of them to put in more.

Goto Crucial and use their memory selector. I suggest getting as much RaM as possible for a lappy since it will use up less battery power.
