How much memory does WIndows 98 take up?

Haervii,

It does not take 230MB of memory. Although memory means RAM usually, I assume you mean hard disk space. I have the Win98SE setup files on my hd, and it takes up 121MB.

You mean hard drive space? 230MB for a minimum install sounds about right. A decent install would take about 500MB.

If you mean RAM, then it's not really a good question. The sweet spot for Win98 is 128MB of RAM. Any more won't help you, and any less will cripple you horribly.

The setup files take ~121MB, after installing it can be around 230MB like you said, but I'm sure it can be smaller. 😉

As for ram, even 64MB and up is fine for Win98. 128MB, like he said, is the sweet spot. 96MB isn't bad either, but when you fool around with Win2K, that starts to get too small.

Good, even 500MB isn't that much.

Now this is a strange question, but anyway, could it be possible to easily exchange Windows 95 with WIndows 98 as the OS without losing any stuff (besides WIndows 95) on the Hard drive?

Yeah, but they're 80 doolllllaaars....I wanted to pirate someone else's CD :Q O well..I'll get one of the Trade forum 🙂
