I have 256 in my 'older' machine, 768 in my main 'do everything' machine, and 512 in my 'only work' machine. 512 is great for XP - those who get by with 256 don't know what they're missing. :p

640MB presently..... though I'm thinking it's about time I pop in some more.

Running anything very memory intensive in the background while playing Morrowind steals all my RAM in an instant. :(
Been starting to multi-task a bit more heavily then I did in the past, and when I have FTP proggy, FrontPage, and PhotoShop running simultaneously it gets pretty close to hitting the pagefile with regularity, and if I saw need to run Adobe 5, or my Scanning proggy, or even Corel at the same time I'll easily surpass the DRAM I have available.

Probably jump up to 768MB maybe a little more. I can't see myself needing 1GB as even my most intensive usage generally only sits around 800MB memory usage.

I have 256Mb of PC2100. I'm running on WinXP right now. I see many of you guys having 512Mb now. So should I get another stick of 256 since it is cheap right now.

512 megs of Micron PC2400 DDR RAM. On my old P3 1.0 GHz system, I only had 256 megs of PC100 RAM because I was running 98SE and had heard about problems with more than 256 megs of RAM. When I built my new system, I went with WindowsXP and went right ahead and got the 512 megs of RAM. After spending four years with 98SE and 256 megs of RAM, moving to XP with 512 megs is simply amazing. :)
