How much longer will Win7 be available?

With the release of Win8 I'm wondering how much longer will Win7 be available as an OEM product?

I just made the transition to W7 at the beginning of this year and I have a HTPC I'm building... I want to keep the same OS, but I won't have the loot for it for a month or so.

MS has not officially said how long windows 7 will be available as an OEM option, but I suspect it will be available for a long time. Windows 8 is the new "vista" ( a stepping stone OS to bridge the gap to a newer better OS), which means Win 7 will be around for a long time.

If Vista and XP were anything to go by, at least a year.

Windows 7's support lifecycle is shown as good until January 2020 according to this MS table. Purchse timeline is yet to be determined.
