The 6xx are EM64Ts (Sager 9860s can have them). However, the roadmap for the Centrino line doesn't show 64bit in any of them for at least a year.

I wouldn't even bother with the P4s now because they run too hot and use too much power and according to Hardcore Centrino 64 bit support is a while off. IMO your best option is an Athlon 64 or Turion 64 (when they become available) based machine.

Well, I am probably not going to be getting a laptop for another couple of months before college, but I am a gaming enthusiast and right now P4 has the amazing go6800 series, and the amd platform still only has the mobility 9700 128mb.

Also, P4 has pci for upgradeability

I'd just have a desktop for gaming and a cheap laptop for using in class. You'll probably spend less that way than on a gaming laptop.

64bit applications will take years to be in full force as most companies will not upgrade all there computers to move to these new standards and read the reviews win64 sucks right now. don't buy a desktop replacment unless you travel around alot and I don't mean to the coffee shop to read email. your wasting your money. buy a desktop gamer and a 1ghz off ebay you'll save 2000 bux
