Why do they come out in such increments? Do you not think there is a way to have much larger drives? We, the general public are being strung along for the obvious profit.

CPU's

Now that story. Same thing. Increment them, make the people buy them as they come. The slowdown is occuring, since you get no real benefit from the fastest CPU from normal use.

Vid cards? How much is being held back here?

Even if that is the case (which I don't think it is, since all it would take is one company coming out with a product that stands head & shoulders above the rest to force the companies to play their cards), there's nothing immoral or illegal about it. It's called smart business.
