I get the feeling mine's a little... High.

$190 for one semester. Non-residential, too, so it's not like they're paying off some massive dorm rennovations to add ethernet jacks.

75 USD per semester or something like that...but our wireless LAN is pretty solid so I'm not complaining.

My bro's college charged him ~$3k for laptop use and the bundled software. At the end of the program if he wants to keep the laptop he can buy it out for $500. Total rape.

wtf, that's insane. Here it's bring-your-own-laptop-and-software or use the f'ing computer labs. $3k is what I'm paying for TUITION.

Same here. And my school lets you check out laptops for free if you dont have one. They're not alienware gaming rigs but they can let your type up a word document.

For a semester, less financial aid. Overall I'm looking at like... Nevermind, I don't even want to think about that.

He wished. That was not an option, it was mandatory.

Probably bundled with Room and board.

But it's bring your own computer so they don't rape you by making you buy anything special, which is nice.

If they had made me drop a couple grand on a lappy I would have been pissed. Computers are for desks.

haha I agree, and whats funny is that 80% of the people at school with laptops never take them off their desk

Agreed - except when you don't HAVE a desk. And even then, I only dropped $1100 on this laptop and got UNGODLY stuff for it (it actually pwned my desktop for a good long time). Guarantee it beats the pants off whatever that poor kid had to pay $3k for.

$8 per credit "technology" fee. Full load is usually 14-16 credits, so $112-128 per sememster. This is for a community college with no housing.

My school has pretty up-to-date computers and A/V equipment, so I can't complain. Lab PCs are either 2.4 or 2.66 GHz P4's, and the newer PC lab even has 17-inch LCDs. We also have a Mac lab, which I've have never used, but have been told has lots of up-to-date software and "fast enough" machines. There's a wireless signal available in most common areas, and enough "technology carts" and "modernized" classrooms to go around for professors that request them.

The "modernized" classrooms are especially pleasant. They've been remodeled with ceiling-mounted LCD projectors, large new pull-down screens, and a new lectern equipped with a PC, an "overhead" camera (high-tech overhead projector), and a DVD/VHS player (not to mention, new everything else, including paint, ceiling tiles, carpeting, lighting, tables, and chairs--decent padded chairs).

There's also a $3.75 per credit "student life" fee, plus 28 more cents per credit for some other fee. So other fees add approx. $56-64 per semester.

And "student life" seems to be A-OK with me, so what the hell? It's a great atmosphere here, with an easy rapport between students and just about all staff. Might as well pay that fee to help keep everybody happy with their student senate, student newspaper, and whatever else it buys.

Per year? Cripes!

P.S. Let me guess: English class was way too early in the morning for you. :)

(Couldn't resist, only because your tuition was so expensive. ;) )
