How much is your rent?

For those of you that rent an apartment, how much is your monthly rent? Also maybe include how many sq feet your place is.

How much is too much for a one bedroom apartment?

location, location, location.

I pay $800 for a two bedroom duplex with a full basement.

Some friends of mine just moved out of a two bedroom in a high rise on the north side they were paying close to $1800

The place wasn't that nice, it was just in a good location.

There are soooo many factors man.. You should know this.. Where are you considering, what kinda apartment (pre/post war), etc. etc... My rent is $1,500 for a 2 bedroom.. Some people pay $700 for a two bedroom, others pay $15,000.. If you want to know how much an apartment you're interested is worth, call a local real estate and pretend that you're interested in a place with similar specs..

In Metro Detroit for a one bedroom' about 800sq ft its 740$/month. But the apartment has a fireplace and vaulted ceilings. you could get one with 730sq ft for about 710$/month

I hate renting.

Depends on location of course... apts in NYC... $1500/mo. for a studio. 😀 Not for me though... I'd rather not throw money away every month so I am paying $2036/mo. instead for a house and I will get most of it back. 😉 Dang interest...

2-story, 2 bedrooms, and an attached 1 car garage, $720 per month. We pay $70-$130 in electricity per month and $22 water/sewage. I forget the size, but it has an OK kitchen, and a nice sized great room with a fireplace.

My God. WHY do they do it? At least live in Queens or something... it's less than a 30-minute train ride into the city.

My brother has a studio not far from Battery Park and it is $2,000 a month for a studio.

I pay $920 a month for a two bedroom/two bath in Columbus, Ohio. It is a gated "luxury" apartment ... this place is really cool, it is well worth the extra price over an older apartment in a mediocre location.

Well, both him and his gf are lawyers so they're not poor like me.. Yeah, I live in Queens myself.. They're actually moving to a one bedroom co-op but they're having a though time finding something in the $500,000 price range....

Downstate NY as a whole is getting out of hand. Friends in Brooklyn have places for $500k+ (2-family though) and they're just out of college like us. Think about it - HALF-A-FRICKIN-MILLION dollars. Our now-$330k home on the island went for $200k in 1994. Even Westchester (less than an hour north of NYC) is getting up there in price. Taxes are just as insane.

All this to live near the biggest terrorist target in the whole damn world. 😉

I know.. It's like a disease spreading from downtown manhattan and working it's way up... Places like Astoria, queens, used to be affordable areas for working class family.. It's getting pretty tough to find an affordable place..

we're selling our house and we're getting a 3 bedroom townhouse apartment. pretty cool, 3 floors, 1800 sq ft for
$1700.00 per month.

$699 a month. That includes water, sewer, and trash. Be careful, a lot of places don't include water anymore, so it does add up when it is not free.

It is a 3 bedroom with 2 1/2 bath. little over 1200 sq feet. Duplex, bedrooms upstairs, rest down.
