How much is your payment? How much is the loan for? What interest rate/PMI/points/term do you have?

House 2: $1800 (Interest Only 1st)

Both houses are in California.

Just under $4500 including property tax. Loan was for $505k -- 10 year fixed 5.25%

It's being refinanced, but it should end up at $1800ish by the end of the month.

Your poll is confusing--Are you including escrow (e.g. for property tax or insurance) also? Or just the loan?

Dang! Are you guys all on interest only or somethin??

Nope.

4500*120 = 540k

So you're only paying 35k in interest and property taxes over 10 years? I don't understand how you're doing that if your actual loan was 505k

Hmmm you know, you are right. That doesnt make sense.. I just pulled it up online and looked at my year end 2006 tax/interest statement and that alone was over $35k

MORTGAGE 00568xxxxx
Property taxes paid in 2006 $13,481.59
Interest paid in 2006 $23,700.86

And I made a typo above, its actually 5.5% which makes it even worse

$340 a month with everything.

Rent? or mortgage???

Mortgage. Just have to look at my profile to see why :).

WV? Marshall?

I assume you mean because you are in school?

Housing is just cheap here. I work at Marshall and kind of go to school there as well.

$1036/mo., but with taxes and insurance it's a little less than $1500/mo.

2 years into a 30 year fixed at 5.63% (no points paid).

What the hell are you people doing that you can afford $4K per month for a mortgage? Holy Christ.
