I have an Altec 361b that works.
All I know is the following.
1. It has two inputs, capable of accepting anything from magnetic microphones to phono input. It must have an RIAA filter/preamp.
2. It has an output of 18 watts. This is according to the back.
3. It's entirely discrete technology - no integrated circuits, as far as I can tell.
4. Though there's a bit of corrosion on the solder, it works perfectly.
5. It's getting new power filtering capacitors - I'm replacing the 25v/ 2,000uf units and 50v/ 1,000uf units with 63v/4,800uf units.
6. I may replace some of the non-polar electrolytic caps with metallized polypropylene caps for better performance.
How much is this thing worth? What, exactly, is it? And what should I do to it?
