How much is this rifle worth?

A co-worker is selling this and I have no idea what its worth, I have always wanted one of these since I was a kid(long time ago) Can anyone tell me what its worth?

Winchester 30-30
Model 94
Saddle Carbine
comes with carrying bag and cleaning kit.
It is in excellent condition, only been fired 8 times, bought new in 1991

He will sale it to me for $175.00 is this a good deal?

 

I purchased my 30-30 new in '94 for $420.

That is an EXCELLENT deal, if it were me I would snatch it up pronto!!!
The rifle is worth easily twice that!!!

well, looking in the latest Gun List Magazine under Win. Rifles for sale, I see:

94 30-30 1959 99% $365 (Pre-64 is very desireable - current guns made in Japan)
94 $249
94 30-30 Ranger $200
94 1972 unfired $275

94 1978 unfired $225

Yeah $175 is fair deal, about $25 less than personal party going rate, less bag

if the rifle is in fairly clean condition and operational, it's a pretty good buy for you. Brand new, that rifle is selling in the range of 299 - 349. Manufactored in 91, it's not a collector's piece but still a very good brush rifle. Buy it; you can always sell it later at a profit (as long as you don't ummmmmmmm trash it somehow).
