I know this is over priced, but I am looking for a small truck and will get 1100 more on my trade than any other place, so the question is is this truck more than 1100 overpriced?

I just want something small that can tow a light trailer and a light boat maybe 4-5 times a year, needs to be reliable too.

Does not seem that badly priced to me. The cheapest non-wrecked 03 in my area is $6500, though that is a V6.

I think you could get them down a bit.

Possibly a little high due to mileage, I found one in my area with half the mileage at the same price.

I like the Rangers, almost bought a 2003 several years ago but couldn't make a deal on it. :(

I don't think it is a horrible deal though.. but me personally if I'm spending $5k on a truck with 150k miles I want one of those two things.

The one you list is a little more beat up. Plus the v6 is not much better than the I4.
I don't think $5K for that truck is out of line if it drives well. It seems to be in pretty good shape, especially for the miles on it. Rnagers may be slow, they may not be big or fancy, but they work, and thye work well. I would buy that with confidence if I were in the market for a regular cab compact truck because I know it will go for a LOOOOOOOOOONG time.

So I might be opening up a can-o-flames here....... But which of these three trucks is the most reliable, they'll all do what I need them to do. Ranger, S-10, Dakota. Ready set go.

That seems over priced for a stripper model (base model).

Check out craigslist.

The ranger/Mazada B-series 4cyl and 4.0L v6 are good.

S10 I would not get a 4cyl. If you find a good s10 with a 4.3L then that be ok.

Dodges I never really liked but I ma not saying they are bad either.

Also my order is also the order I woudl buy. I like GM full size trucks better then Ford, but the S10 4cyl and older S10s were not great. At least with the ranger it was decent.

The Rangers are bulletproof. My dad now owns a 92 that I bought new. Has never had a problem with it. Ford has barely changed them forever, so any kinks have LONG been worked out. Also, parts are cheap.

The ranger is a relatively old design, but that's not really a bad thing. The original design was solid so there really was no reason to change it. The platform isn't as refined as some other trucks but it is reliable and can soak up abuse. My experience with the same year range of S-10 has been ok but like people have said you'll want the bigger engine. All in all it was a decent truck when I was in one but I couldn't tell you about reliability. I only was around a new one. I can't comment on the Dakota, i haven't really had to deal with it.
