Sometimes none, sometimes a few bucks. The most I ever paid was $15 to send $50 to canada via Western Union. your bank probably charges a buck or 2 to another account.
from what I've heard its a lot...like a minimum of a $30-50 fee. Wire transfers are usually LARGE transactions in the thousands of dollars. Most of the time they happen between companies that do them so often that the bank gives them a large discount. They're too expensive to be useful for the average person.
edit: Western Union is cheaper than going through your regular bank. But the thing is the person receiving this money has to have a western union nearby to get the money.
Don't know about Scotia Bank, but TD Canada Trust charged me mayble $5-10 to
transfer about $200 Cdn. to some guy in France (however, this was a while ago
before the merger).
