How much is tax in Maryland?

He's buying a supra from Maryland soon and importing it into Canada, I couldnt find online, but how much is tax on a private car sale in Maryland. Also specifically Laurel, Maryland. Also would like to know, is it possible to get trip permets in Maryland for transporting the car? (Driving from Maryland back to Canada).

In a private sale, no taxes get paid until the title is transferred at the DMV. Not sure about taking it to Canada, or if he will have to do the transfer before it crosses the border or not. I'd think that a valid bill of sale should be enough to transport it north, and then register it once he gets home.

I think he has to put it in his name in MD from what I understand. and also he would have to pay tax in Canada for the value of the car, not sure about anything else yet lol
