How much is it to spay\neuter a cat?

It's been awhile since I had any cats "altered", but it seems like when I did females were ~$50 or more, males ~$30ish. No doubt it's higher now. In fact I think the last cat I had spayed was closer to $100, but vets are pricey around here.

My sister's male cat was around $50, female around $80. (They walk like they're drunk after the operation)

We got our kitten in January through a local program called CAPP. They charged us $60 but that included all his shots and neutering as soon as he was old enough to be. Pretty good price considering the neutering was included.

I'm always amazed at the cat's recovery, especially the female who essentially undergoes a hysterectomy, no pain meds afterward, and up and around in a day or so (rather gingerly as soon as the anesthesia is worn off).
