How much is it for airbags to be replaced?

Long story short, my friend was driving his GTI, made a hard turn, hit a curb and blew the tire and chipped the rim a little bit. The passenger side airbags popped from the seat and the roof. Now he's wondering how much is it gonna be to replace the airbags. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Yup. Mine was $1800 to replace because they had to replace the airbag, a sensor, and including labor it came to about $1800. If it were up to me I wouldn't f'in replace it.

It costs a lot? Although it's not very smart, and you better be a damn good driver.

Good for you, just make sure to let you insurance company know that these safety features will no longer work in you car so that they may appropriately edit your insurance policy and charge you the correct rates.

Oh yeah! He's obviously a great driver! (sarcasm)

He can actually claim he had an accident and insurance will cover the repair, minus the deductible, and of course, the increased premium on a GTI from having an at fault accident.
