my rc5 (i just started 2 days ago) says that i am doing 4.13 Mkeys/s. is this good? how can i make it go faster?

Welcome to the Team! 🙂 Try putting your MHz numbers into the Speed Calculator to see what the theoretical output is supposed to be. The most common power hog is screensavers that need CPU power. Blank screen can improve a machine's output dramatically over most other screensavers.

You can also get more output by overclocking your system, if you like. The best way, though, is to get a friend/relative/employer on board! Just remember it is super-taboo to put the client on a computer without the permission of the administrator/owner, so that we keep ourselves out of trouble. 🙂

Welcome to the TeAm. 4.13 Mkeys ain't bad. how many machines you running and what are they? I'd do what mech suggested and check out what you should be getting optimaly on the speed charts.
 
Did I get this kind of welcome when I joined??? I joined 3 days ago, and I am cracking for Miniteam Borg! Mine is currently 2.23MKeys/Sec, which is about right for my Classic Athlon 650, I think...I just let my Cow do its thing!

thanks for the greeting all. i forgot to mention what kind of computer i have (dumb on my part). i have an athlon 1.2 GH. i am doing more than the calculator says ... so i guess i am good to go. my laptop will also be going online (maybe if i get a connection for it).
