it's $29 at Walmart now . . . . but do it quick - unless the expansion pack turns out to be good (which is highly unlikely - it's headed very quickly for the Bargain Bin (where it belongs)

I still haven't finished it and I bought it when it came out. Just not interested in it. I keep going back to it, but it just bores the crap out of me.

i havent played MP . . . . but . . .
SP is bad . . . really bad. if you want to see 'how bad', just d/l the demo . . . it does not get better (even worse when you get a "super weapon" that makes you unbeatable). 😛

edit: OP, i guess you played it then you know .. . . i sold my copy within a week of it's release after i beat it . . . . and i did not feel guilty about asking $25 (shipped) 'cause i told the buyer how little i thought of the game . . . .
you might get $15 for it . . . . but mostly everyone knows how crappy it it - by now. 😉

WHATEVER you do, d/l the demo first . . . . the complete game is "more" of the "same" . . . over-and-over . . . . (and over) . . . 'till the bitter end against the weakest End Boss in gaming history.

ok, about Diii . . . .
i hated the game . . . . i was not expecting anything before the game came out and refrained from even viewing screenshots. i did not play the original doom.
i like sci-fi games (DeuSex/Unreal/HL) horror games (Painkiller, etc) and fast paced shooters (Serious Sam) but the more i kep playing Diii, the more annoyed i got . . . . nothing changed - the same cheap "boo" over and over.
the lack of a light with a future weapon was irritating but i managed; the PDA was "jarring" and took me out of the game for some really STUPID clues; Secret spots were OBVIOUS. A walkthrough? HA!HA! the most LINEAR game ever (stuck? look up or down or blow something up). Puzzles seemed intended for morons to solve - i was insulted by the age level this game is aimed at - boys, ages 13-17.
the Bosses were easy except for one and once you got the Soul Cube, it got SO damn easy (kill kill kill kill kill kill . . . "use us")
Most of the levels were ugly and dark - for all their graphical spendor. the game seemed intent on "shocking" with gore but that got boringly 'the same' very quickly. . . . there was ZERO suspense (once you got over the first few In-Your-Face materialization and then 'behind you' attack). The soundtrack was damned annoying.
i beat the Cyberdemon on my first try - the ONLY time i beat the End Boss in one try . . . . sickingly disappointing to not even have a fight.
i give the game a 1.5/10 . . . . zero for gameplay and only scored for gfx . . . . i am dying to see a good game using this engine.
i could go on and on . . .. Doom iii is a horrible game . . . it is John Carmack's Daikatana. 😛

Soul Cube <= easily the most limp-wristed munchkin weapon in any 3DFPS ever.
I don't hate D3 all that much, but they'd better come up with some real quality opposition in the upcoming expansion...
