how much is a box spring and frame

In the same boat as you. I think its like a hundred or less for something not all the way up there?

I'm thinking of just paying for a new set for like 300 though.

We just bought a new set about 3 months ago. It was a queen and it was $2,600. It was a little to soft for the wife so we traded it in on a firmer King that only cost us $40 more.

I saw matress sets in there for more then 5K. :Q

I love futons. Only one pad to worry about, and that is usually less than $100.. IE: Disposable after a year or two.

If it's a King-sized box spring that you need, they actually take (2) twin sized box springs. There is no "king" sized box springs per-se. I've found box springs @ BJs wholesale club for $59 (twin size). Full and queen sizes were a bit more.

To save more money, you could just look for a "foundation" for the mattress. Foundations are made to look like box springs, but are just a "box" designed to support the mattress.

Mattress places usually charge $29+ for frames. A twin/full-sized frame starts at this price and the other sizes go up in price from there.
