Do you know of any way to test how much the power supply is drawing, maybe via software?
Also if you have one of those fire hot AMD processors and inadaquate cooling it can raise the temperature in the room and increase the AC cost witch is more costly than running the pc itself. On the other hand they can be cheap heaters during the winter months. When I was running AMD machines my computer room was always 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. Computer don't use that much electricity it is the CRT monitors that do. If you have the power saving settings on for the monitor it significantly reduces the pwr consumption of the PC. If you have a LCD it is even less.
