Well, I took it right before it went through a change. What the new one did (I think) was took out DOS and added Linux. Another major change that I heard of is that you will have to renew your certification every so often as to where when I passed in in November, it is for life. I could be wrong though. Anyone else?

The biggest change was that they made it way too easy! Back in my day the test was a lot harder, but still easy. :)

I teach A+ certification and the only real changes, depending on how far back we are talking (I remember the first time I took it, it had Mac questions), is they removed DOS completely, and added a very basic NT4 bootup problems, and basic win2000 troubleshooting. Other than that the hardware portion of the test is the same, just software really changed. They had originally said they were goint to add Linux in as part of the certification but they got away from that and made a Linux+ certifiation to cover that area. And the new certifiations are still lifetime certs, don't have to be renewed. Hope this helps.

i took this bout last year, ur current book will probably get you by on the hardware, if you have a basic working knowledge of win2kpro it should get you by on the OS part, im sure its nothing like the Win2kPro test, and it wasnt too hard .. you should be fine, take a look over at
http://www.cramsession.com , with that study guide, you might not need anything else , .. good luck ..
