How much ghosting u see with a 16ms LCD in games/movies???

I am deciding between Viewsonic VP191b(8-bit panel):

and VP912b(6-bit panel):

I am more inclined towards VP191b as it has 16.7m colors but a little concerned about the ghosting effect. I'd appreciate if anyone using a 16ms 17"/19" lcd would share their experiences in terms of ghosting in games or movies.

I have the vp912b (got it about a month ago) and just recently got a dell 2405fpw.

The viewsonic is nice and I have NOT noticed any ghosting. As with all lcd's there is motion blur.

I think you will notice more of a difference in the response time then in the colors. I have no evidence to back it up but that's my 2 cents.

If you are interested in the 912b and want a used one, drop me a pm with what you want to pay. I will decide this weekend if I am going to keep viewsonic or the dell.

Have you considered the Hyundai 19" L90+. I bought mine for $360 shipped at chiefvalue.com from recommendations from the hot deals forum.

for some reason motion blur isn't that annoying. ghosting is however. it took me five minutes to get over motion blur when I first got my lcd. sorry, just thinking out loud.

I can't notice any blurring in games or movies with my 16ms cheapo Proview.

It is important to note, however, that rated response times are highly manufacturer dependent. Where the number (16ms, 25ms, etc) comes from is black-to-white transitions, something that rarely correlates with everyday use. The moral is: All 16ms/12ms monitors are not born equal.

Best thing to do is to try it out for yourself or get another AT'ers opinion on the exact same model.

Aside from a stupid stuck pixel AND a deadie, the Hyundai is a sweet looking LCD.

Actually, I would hold off a little. There are some great 8ms lcds coming out shortly and a new 19" 4ms viewsonic coming in 1.5 months. I would probaly wait for that.
