Hi,

I've been asked to give a price for 4 servers. Those are used 24/7 servers, which are to be sold. I would like to ask you guys for your opinions:

Server #1
Full Tower
HP Proliant ML370 G4
Raid5 3x 146.8GB Ultra 320 SCSI 10k
Raid5 3x 72GB Ultra 320 SCSI 10k
Tape HP Storage Works Ultrium 448
(Year: 2003?)

Server #2
Full Tower
HP Proliant ML350 G3
Raid5 3x 36.4GB Ultra3 SCSI 10k
(Year: 2005)

Server #3
Full Tower
HP Proliant ML350 G5
Raid5 3x 72GB Serial SCSI 10k
(Year: 2007)

Server #4
Rack Mount
Dell PowerEdge 2850
Raid5 3x 33.87GB
Additional spare 33.87GB Disk
(Year: ?)

Choosing prices is not easy ... for the original cost of each of them I would buy I beast of a server nowadays ... it's the story of computer prices ... they keep falling and performance keep raising ... for that reason I would like to hear from you.

So I have a few questions:

[A] What would be the best buy? In order would it be: #1, #3, #2, #4?

What would be good prices for them? When I say good prices, I'm talking about values that make them easy to sell, but not given away. I'm having some difficulties establishing such a price, as they are not new machines.

I'm thinking myself of buying a server (maybe #3) for my personal projects.

Thanks

I always take a look at "Completed Sales" in eBay as a rough starting point for pricing things. eBay has a wide audience and folks don't expect to get things for free like they do on Craig's List.

All of these arent worth much, maybe a few hundred. Also, you did not list RAM/CPU.

Yep, RAM not listed ... :( I only know that Server #3 has 2Gb RAM.

Maybe I can post this on "Hot Deals" forums? Ask for price there?

Thanks

Ok, thanks all for the posts.

Sorry for not following the rules in the first place ... my fault.
