How much for logo design?

Hi all,

I have a friend who works for a company. IDIOT me quoted them $400 for a BASIC website template, because they are a friend of mine. now, they want a logo to go with it. This isn't something I'm doing personally though, I'm going to be paying a designer friend of mine $100 to design the logo (vector based, etc.)

Anyway, I want to obviously up the cost of the logo. What should I charge? Ideas?

I normally charge $300 for a logo (vector).

I am a graphic designer, and 300 is on the cheap side. I know guys who charge up to $1500.
