How much food can the human stomach reliably hold?

The average human stomach can comfortably hold one liter of food, which is 61.0237 cubic inches.

I'm guessing that one mcnugget is close to one cubic inch in volume, so I'm going to say 61 chicken mcnuggets.

McNuggets are pretty thin. I'd say 2-3 would make up an actual cubic inch. So I'd go 137ish.

To be fair, I've worked for McDonald's so I know over 40 is possible.

I've always wondered that. I look at a huge poutine for example, and then look at the container after I ate the whole thing, and think to myself "That volume is in me right now, how is this even possible?". And that's nothing, look at those eating contests where people eat like 40 hot dogs. How does that all fit in a person? When you start to stuff yourself does it just start pushing undigested food down the colon?

Hmm .. I would say that I would be content with about 30 or 40 ncnuggets and nothing else. If I were going to stuff myself, 80-100 would be doable if I skipped the honey mustard.

Speaking of lot of food, we ordered 16 cheeseburgers once between two people.

I could only eat like 6 then I was just too stuffed. Does not help that we had brought in a dozen of donuts that same morning. We passed the rest around the office. Fun times.

That would not work at my new place, almost everybody is on these gluten free diets and crap. No fun.

Don't you have to stretch out the stomach first?
Is it not true that obese people's stomachs are bigger?

Reliably? None. All of the food that you put in it ends up leaking out the bottom over time.

If it's leaking out the bottom, you should really see a doctor. :hmm:

Happens every time! I put something down there, a few hours later I try to regurgitate it back up for another taste, and nothing! It didn't come up, so where else did it go?

Would my doctor be able to seal the leak?

Depends on your methodology. If you sit on the can and start pounding them back with a good rhythm you can excrete them quickly enough that you don't have to stop eating.

Hmm if they could seal that leak it means we would never have to eat again! We'd always be full.

I generally try and eat healthy but I couldn't turn down a free burger its not like I eat them all the time.
