How much feedback / history should an Ebay seller have to trust?

i'm trying to buy a laptop on ebay and one of the sellers has ~750 since nov 2003 at around 96% positive... most of them are for low priced items like software though, i couldn't find any for expensive stuff.

this other one has 93 feedback, 100% positive, dating from july 2001... but she has sold laptops before apparently

i hate how none of these sellers take CC or escrow... you're basically stuck with some unguaranteed method of payment :|

There is always risk in ebay. 96% is pretty good. Did you have contact with him yet?

no i haven't contacted that one yet but i have had email contact with the 93 feed back one. there's another with 103 feedback with 99% positive since july 2, but when i called the phone number listed, the guy who answered said it was his friend's account... which makes sense because all the prior auctions are for anime cds...

Just remember to not take some shady payment method or anything you don't feel safe with trying to save $20 or $30. Talk with the seller and ask if they will take your payment type or not.

96 percent aint all that great, when one is a powerseller, they best keep it under the 1.5 percent range. That is my negative feedback tolerance for powersellers.
Defineately go with the one that has perfect feedback.
