How much faster do you think the Internet would be if there were no P2P services/apps?

I was just thinking about how much bandwidth everyone uses and I was wondering what the performance would be like if there were no P2P sharing apps...

What do you all think? Are there any stats showing the percentage of P2P traffic on the internet as a whole?

Whatever it is, it prolly wouldn't be as fast as if everybody on the internet logged off.

Or how about if we got rid of those damn AOL'ers?

it would be as fast as it was before p2p took off. the exact same speed. 95% of the world's fiber goes unutilized, which is why global crossing, worldcom, and tons of others went bankrupt.

oh why cant they bring the fiber to the home!

It wouldn't be any different because most peoples' connections are the slowest link.

Since most peoples internet connections are the slowest link, it wouldn't be much different.
