How much electricity do you use? And what does it cost you?

We just got our first electric bill in the apartment...I was *very* pleasantly surprised. We didn't run the AC after the first week to conserve power...but I own every type of electronic equipment known to man, and the total stereo equipment in this place is like 5 billion watts...but the bill was only $144(4 people, in philly). 1001 KWatt/hrs. I expected it to be at least $200. How bout you guys?

I'm in Philly, 3 bedroom house, family of 4. My electric bill averages 120-140 per month.

Birmy 1800 square feet (I think?) last month was $98 vs. the previous 2 months at $150. It's cooler now, so less AC needed! I bet October will be closer to $85 🙂

In Korea (2500 sq. ft. house) last month 843 kWh. Cost (converted to US dollars) $314.

Consider yourselves lucky.

Edit: The other house (Michigan - 3500 sq. ft.) - 630 kWh. Cost $40.38.

A better place to be.

I typically use between 700 and 1000 KWatt/hrs each month. My average electricity bill is $55 (although it ranges from $40 to $100 depending on the month).

2 person Chicago Apartment. $22/month average. I don't know what you're doing, but that's hella expensive.

Roughly 800KWh at 0.089 for the first 200 KWh, 0.129 each KWh after that. So thats roughly $95. No A/C too, arg. Gotta switch to florescent lighting and getting roommate to shut off computer and lights when he leaves.
