How much does it cost to leave my monitor on for 24 hours?

Tell me roughly how much it is for 1 month time. Thanks

My monitor is now officially my rotating phone album.
I have 2 monitor for your info. rather let it lying there doing nothing, i do it just for fun since i can't afford the hi tech LCD screen photo album.

Thank you for your responce. Atleast you do care about letting me know your view. I appreciate it.

Unique as it is, but still would really like to know. Just don't want to waste money without knowing roughtly how much is wasted. If it cost not much, i will really let it on for 24/7

I used to leave mine on 24/7 and recently started turning it off when I'm not on and my power bill went down by about $20 a month. Your milage might vary

Well, if you can find the power rating of your monitor (in Watts of course), and multiply that by the rate you pay, say, ummm... in California, $300000000000000000/KWH 🙂, times number of hours (24 hours * ~30 days)*1000W/KW, you have your figure.

wow, it really cost 20$ per month?
tat's a lot to pay just for this.

Can anyone verified?

alright, how about roughtly how much it cost to leave your TV on 24/7.
a 19 inch TV. hehe

It really depends on how much it costs you to get electricity over where you are. If you had a profile enabled or at least tell us from where your roughly from, then I'm sure someone can help you out. Since prices vary by location. Like California is just mad crazy expensive. You'd save more money in the long run by buying one of those picture frame photo albums.

Even at $20.00 a month, it'll be cheaper to go on eBay and get one of those photo albums for $100~ and a $75 128MB CF card (that's a lot of pictures), than run it 24/7 for a year. 😉

Ok, these are just some numbers I am crunching up to give you an estimate. Real results may vary.

A typical 17-19 inch monitor should probably use a max of 150W max. And electricity might cost 8 cents/KWH (your area may be higher or lower, just check your bill). So if you leave it on for one month, you have about ((150W X 24 hours/day X 30 days/month X 1KW/1000W) X (8 cents/KWH) = 864 cents/month.

You also have to consider the cost of electricity for the computer also.

Thanks Mapidus.

Checked on my KDS VS19sn. Says "<120w"

Can't find an electric bill at the moment, but using your 8c per kw mine would cost $6.91 to leave on all month. Since it's on about half that, 3 bucks a month to be able to see what I'm typing seems a steal to me!
