I believe that you can turn it off for gaming?

Besides gaming, does it slow down the system?

ZoneAlarm is so annoying when it asks you do u want to allow internet connection for this program for that program and so on...do you want to have a police stand outside of your door and keep knocking the door and ask you do u want this man comes in ?
do u want this girl goes out? do u want this dog swim in your pool? I guess not...
try BlackICE..it seems working fine and able to block intruders.
Well...I have BlackICE and LinkSys router running together as external hardware firewall and internal software firewall for my broadband connection.

I have used it for a while with no apparent slowdowns. When you have told it to allow this and that to access the net once, you don't have to do it again. I have also shut off the alert pop-up which can be annoying.
Also the price is right:)

I have never noticed any slowdows using Zonealarm. It only ever needs to ask those questions once and as the dude above me said the price is right

I haven't noticed any slowdowns related to ZoneAlarm either. And allowing an Internet connection is no big deal. You do it once, tell ZoneAlarm to remember it and that's it. It works and it's free. Where's the downside in that?

I haven't noticed any slowdowns either. BTW - I happen to like the fact that it asks me whether I want a program to access the Internet or not. I like to know what's sending stuff as much as I like to know what's trying to get in. :)

Well, I don't know if you'd call this a slow down or not. My system is a BP6 with 2xC366@550 (yes, I like collectables), deskstar, v3-2k, 64mb, win2k pro, CPUIdle pro, MBM 5.0, download accelerator, winamp, ie-oe5.5. No network; stand alone dial-up connection. Result: zonealarm eventually crippled my system. At first it was fine, just like on my nt box, then slowly one evening the day after I installed it, it just began to dig it's claws in until, slowly, nothing worked. Is that slow enough? :)

I was able to uninstall and 3 boots after that I'm back to normal.
Any ideas why this would happen? Any known issues with my other software?
