Adsense contracts have a nifty clause. You have to agree to not tell anyone how much you're making. On my site, from 2006-2008 the ads basically covered the cost of the webhosting. For 2009, ad income is about half of that. If you have a niche site ad clicks can pay pretty good. Generic content = generic ads = low pay.
