It doesen't cost much.

They may even do it for free. Ask them.

I used to work at a jewlery store. You should be able to resize a ring for under $10. Don't do it if it costs more than that.

How far does he need to go with the resize, and would it be up or down? If you are going up, you can stretch a ring maybe a 1/4 or 1/2 size. If you are going down, they can actually remove some material from the ring and solder it back. Service Merchandise probably won't do it for him, but he should be able to find a good local jewler who could take care of it for no more than $20 or $30.

Umm... When I bought my ring, I bought the thingy where they'll resize/polish it for life for like 50 bucks. I've already resized it like 5 times.

The first time, after the GF tried it and it didn't fit. We then went in to resize it and she for some reason liked it loose. I kept kinda bitching about how she's gonna lose it so we resized it again. Then, she lost some weight and then we resized it again. Then, we just brought it in to have them polish it. Ok, so only 4 times, but 5 visits.

I make my living manufacturing and repairing jewelry and wholesale cost to size a ring up is $9.00
size it down $6.50 now the retailer marks that up at least double to triple in price, prices can very from region to region.

Now a word of warning about the ring he is planning on buying it looks as though that it is only available in a size 8 or 10
so if they need to size it down very far the diamonds in the channels may come loose and fall out frequently.
This is because they are not set very securely, I can tell from the picture, they use a fake channel setting technique
basically they just push little beads of gold over the stones to set them, this is cheap production method wich makes me lots of money because I'm always replacing these stones as they fall out, unfortunately for the Jewelry business this is bad because you end up with tons of pissed off customers.

Also the stated retail on this ring is pure fiction {imo} I'll bet the diamonds in this mounting are promotional grade
I.E there white but they don?t sparkle because there so filled with inclusions.
$150.00 is not that much to spend on a ring but it?s the thought that counts and unfortunately Just because someone spends
hundreds or even thousands on a piece of fine jewelry doesn?t mean their going to be getting what they pay for by the way of quality craftsmanship.

Sorry for the rant and I hope your friends purchase brings his Gf much Joy.
