How much does it usually cost.

Are you going to forget all about it if it happens to cost money?

Not trolling or criticising, I just have a lot of sympathy for animals and would pay up if it were my pet.

no I'll take care of her. I just want to know what to expect.

I've had her for over 10 years. Don't really know how old she is but I figure 12-13. She doesn't act old at all. Sleeps on my bed every night.
I'm used to her. If I lose her I'll be very sad.

Might well just be a spider bite, but you should get it checked out.

It's hard to quote you a price because location has a lot to do with it.

I took my dog in Saturday for a simple procedure. The vet charged $60.

I paid $150 for my last visit. This was for 2 cats, complete examination, distemper shots, rabies shots. This is a really nice cat clinic too in Alexandria, VA

EDIT: I just saw that you're in Alexandria!

A really good vet that I've found is Kingstowne Cat Clinic

http://www.kingstownecatclinic.com/

The vets are very very nice and thorough and they always spend time with us and answer any and every question we have. This might sound silly but I've dealt with stupid vets in the past where they get mad whenever we had any questions for them.

I would ask around for reasonable vets. Usually the "Animal Hospitals" or even the ASPCA are expensive. You pay at least $50 just for the privilege of them touching your animal. I love my animals and I get into lose all common sense at the vet so I usually end up with nasty bills.
