I was looking at ebay auctions and found some nice cars.

But some are like in Georgia (I'm in Iowa) and I wouldn't want to travel there

How much would it cost to have it shipped or whatever here?

Or ship one in general

Not saying I would buy a car off ebay

It would be cheaper just to fly there and drive it home. Or find a friend that is willing to take a couple of days to do this for you for $200 and pay all their expenses.

I used to work for homestore.com, which owns rent.net move.com, realtor.com and stuff like that.

and one of the websites i remembered was http://www.caronatruck.com/

That will get you a free quote online.

Also ask your insurance company, they will have info on it too.

I, as a driver, gross about $250-300 to ship one car each way to St. Louis and back to St. Paul (new car dealer trades). The trailer rental is about $120, and gas is about $125-170. They also put me up in a motel for a night, at $45-60. The truck is considered free, since they borrow one from the used car department. So with me driving, it's about $540-650. Add $60-90 if the trailer loses a tire along the way. Oh, and about $8 for the Illinois tollway.

You're better off driving it home.

One car I really like is near Kansas City and I am in Des Moines

So I would drive down there.

I would hate to buy a car and not see it/test drive it first

I would never do that

I shipped a Honda Civic from Little Rock to my Brother-in-Law in New York City and it was somewhere around $400.00.
