I just bought a pair of new shocks but I need to actually phsyically replace the old ones. Does anyone know how much a mechanic normally charges to replace the rear shocks?

If they're shocks and not struts, it's a very simple job.

Although they're not going to be really excited about installing shocks you've already bought, for various reasons.

Just do it yourself, assuming that you are actually replacing shocks and not struts. If you don't have to touch the springs, it is quite easy.

It's just shocks and I'm not touching the springs. Unfortunately, I don't have the capability of doing it on my own.

Would $100 to have the shocks installed be too much?

Why do people make car threads without saying what car?

It'll cost you $100-$1000.

All you need is a jack, some jack stands or ramps and a few metric wrenches. It's painfully simple to replace the rear shocks.
