How much does it cost to install a sun/moon roof into a car?

I may be getting car soon without a sun/moon roof but I would really like one

How much does it cost and how long does it take a pro to do it?

not even sure it can be done to all cars, its going to cost a lot, and yes-- unless you want to go out into the garage with a hacksaw and some plexiglass.. your going to need a professional.

alot, and you're probably gonna fuxor up the structural rigidty(sp?) of your car (or so i've heard)

um......i'm not sure if thats a smart DIY project......you'll have to cut a hole in the roof of your car, wedge in a pocket for the roof to roll back in (which will probly mean you have to pull the interior roor back and cut several inches of headroom from the passenger compartment), put in a motor with railings for the roof, and to make it all happen you'll need to be wiring switches to the motor and power supply.

oh, and dont forget getting gaskets and stuff to seal it all up with. you dont want a leak.

It can be done (anything can be done if you've got the $), but it would probably cost more than it's worth to have a sun/moon roof.

Just about every solid roof car of sufficient size will accept a sun/moon roof option. Typical prices can range anywhere from 600-1000 dollars. There is minimal loss of structural rigidity if done properly.

Id just spend the extra and get the sunroof when ya buy the car... Too much $$$ aftermarket...
