How much does it cost to convert old recordings to DVD?

My mom has some old videos of the kids that you play on a projector. She would like to be able to watch them again. I was wondering how much it costs to have someone convert them to DVD?

it would cost more than going to a garage sale on a saturday and picking up an 8mm projector for $5.
