you know the kind you do a bench press off of? i just need a flat bench, maybe one that can do inclines it doesnt need to have the hooks for a barbell to rest on though i have free wieghts and plan on using those but i need a bench to do the exercises on.

A Plain old bench? With no barbell rack on it or anything? Well ive seen those in stores as cheap as like $100, for a good high quality one, probably $200.

Ya dont know how to weld or upholster, do ya?
Nice bench, scary price
Second one down, Nautilus OWNZ workout equipment..
VERY NICE, adjustable, tons of different positions
Available at most Sports Authority Locations...

One thing...if youre a big guy like me with very broad shoulders, Opt for a larger (wider) bench. Otherwise if youre doing certain exercises you may become tipsy and have a spill ;)

My room mates and I saw a cheapy one on sale for $60 (down from $100) at big 5. good enough for us since we were going to keep it indoors safe from rust anyway.

they had a big sale that week. the bench had an incline and a rack.

Ameesh, thats awesome! I didnt know you had a play-it-again near you, I go there all the time. You can usually find some decent stuff there for good prices. Make sure you watch your local ads tho for sporting goods places, they sometimes have nice deals..

<< Damn sneg, awesome find! Not bad for the avg lifter ;) >>

i was reading online that you can use milk gallon jugs full of water instead of free weights, any of you do this? any negatives i should consider, i have free wieghts 20lbs and lower but nothing bigger so im thinking about getting some but if a milk jug works i dont see the point.

lol man Ive never heard of the milk jugs idea, but I used to do something similiar- kinda...

my dad helped me pour cement mix into a bucket and then stuck a piece of thick rebar in there. then did the other end. We ended up with an 80lb PERMANENT benchpress bar for roughly $25. He gets rebar at wholesale and cement is like $2 a bag..lol

Anyways, Ameesh, when you go to play it again, just check out their used weights section. Usually theyll have some nice stuff layin there for a decent price. Last time I got all my freeweights was when our local prison sold all their equipment.

$.05 a lb on all free weights!! 45lb plates only cost us like $2.25...it was so badass

You'll be best off with plate weights imho. You also might want to look into a squat rack.

As for milk jugs, seems a little iffy to me though there are all sorts of great ideas like that, e.g. a duffel bag filled with sand.

Its not a bench press bench unless its 'standard' specification by the way guys. So the bench is 'fair' to everyone who bench presses on it properly. It will also be a standard hight as well.

The others are just work out benches....

if your not serious and it won't get a good beating then any cheap one will do. You pay for quality but I take it the bench doesn't have to be industry strength one.....
