You can get them prebuilt, but the cost varies depending on how large/nice of one you get. It's kinda like asking "how much does a house cost".

There are places around here that will come and build them at your location or you can gets smaller plastic or sheet-metal ones that you can put together yourself.

The custom built wood sheds will probably start aroud $1000 for a 6' x6'.

It's in the back corner of my yard.

Yip i built my own, made it look like a 10X12 barn with a loft. cost me about 900 as well.

Yes Home Depot has them all outside in front of the store for your to browse through. If you lock yourself in one... well... just bring a cell phone.

I'm sorry, could you please be a little more vague.

This is like asking how much does a car cost? There are MANY factors that go into cost.

Agreed. You pay at least 50% more for a pre-fab shed and the materials are generally lower quality than what you'd use if you built it from scratch (ie- particle board instead of real plywood).

I started one about 2 years ago. Here are some pictures, kinda big .45MB and 1.5MB.

It has the barn style roof and measures 12x16. Cost was probably somewhere in the 2-3,000 range. That's with all the tools it took to build it, air compressor, framing nailing, dewalt Mitersaw, dewalt circular saw, dewalt drill. ;) The only thing left to do is to put the trim on it. I don't want to rush it.

Edit. does fuse talk automatically put the linky thing in?

Yes, Home Depot and Menards have many of them. About 300$ for a 8x10 sheet metal shed. It has a low height though.

Sears just recently had the metal ones on sale... they may still be on sale, I'm not sure. I've been thinking about getting one. I can't believe that they're actually that hard to put together... but remember to factor in the cost of a floor, regardless of which kind you purchase. They rarely come with floors (or include floors in the cost of the kit or prefab ones). IMHO, I would prefer a metal one, as I don't want critters chewing through the walls to get inside, or insects deciding that my shed is yummy. Try looking for plans to build a custom metal shed... The materials can be purchased at Home Depot just as easily as for wood sheds... and it'd be less expensive.

edit: incidentally, my workplace just built a huge storage shed/garage against the rear of the building... It was built quite cheaply, but looks really good and is sturdy. Wooden frame covered with the corrugated metal panels. I'm trying to remember offhand, but I don't think you even need 2x4's every 16 inches as you would with an all wood structure. (except on the roof... heavy snow loads expected, but even there, I think they're spaced 24 inches)

I put one together with my dad... it took hours upon hours... not easy in the middle of a summer day. Looks nice though.

I wouldn't do that again... pay for installation, IMO.

Just dropped in to see what's up.

I gotta build myself one too.

I figured it couldn't cost more than $100-$200.

2X4's and T111, but I have a slab out there all ready.
