depends on the car....
anywhere from $30 (really cheap) to probably a little over $100. Most that I've purchased where in the 45-60 dollar range.

Ah ok, I paid about $150 cuz the car wouldn't start anymore and the road assistance had to replace it.

Wow, that's pretty steep for a car battery. But I guess it cost so much since they had to go out to your car and install it.

nah, the work and installation was free. I think the prices in Switzerland are just a little bit higher like about everything :) But I was actually quite happy, so I didn't have to drive to the dealership and get it exchanged there, etc. BTW, this battery lasted about 7 years :)

yeah, that's what the road assistance guy told me too. He said normal batteries last between 3 and 5 years :)

at WalMarts in the USA;

about $39.95 + tax,+ core where needed. For a normal replacement car battery.

If your car uses an odd size,it will cost more,be tougher to find.

you are right...they are 39.95...but only if you get a POS, or you have a saturn. i have never even looked at the smaller, cheaper batteries. cheap charley pays twice. i usually get 700-900 and at least 600 coldstart. do whatever you guys want, but my batteries last 5-6 years even if you drain them a few times.

edit: oh and by the way, by lasting 5-6 years, i mean thats when i start to check up on them. they still work after that, but continually using a battery with weak cells actually causes starter malfunctions and can fuXor your radio. it is all situational, obviously, but why take a chance?

I have the Walmarts $39.95 "pos" battery in my chevy van,
it started at the below zero weather this winter, and last year, and the year before.
the van has a 5.0 v8.

My 1967 Camaro,with a 427 cubic inch V8 with 10.25 compression starts fine with a "pos"
Walmarts battery too.

Oh your results may vary;especially if Your starting & charging system is a "POS".

A good battery is not that good,if,your battery cables are corroded/weak,
your starter is drawing too much current, because its dying,
your alternator/generator is too wimpy/dying.

I run an 80 amp 1 wire alternator on my 1967 Camaro, and put a New starte in it 4 years ago,
along with a 2 guage negative;and 4 guage new battery cables.

I Hate being somewhere and the car doesn't want to start!

Oh if that does happen,I have "AAA +" the "plus" adds 100 mile towing. ;)

Wow, you got screwed if that was only for the battery.

You can get ones with 5 - 7 year warranties for like $40 from Sears, SamsClub, etc...
