edit: oh and by the way, by lasting 5-6 years, i mean thats when i start to check up on them. they still work after that, but continually using a battery with weak cells actually causes starter malfunctions and can fuXor your radio. it is all situational, obviously, but why take a chance?
I have the Walmarts $39.95 "pos" battery in my chevy van,
it started at the below zero weather this winter, and last year, and the year before.
the van has a 5.0 v8.
My 1967 Camaro,with a 427 cubic inch V8 with 10.25 compression starts fine with a "pos"
Walmarts battery too.
Oh your results may vary;especially if Your starting & charging system is a "POS".
A good battery is not that good,if,your battery cables are corroded/weak,
your starter is drawing too much current, because its dying,
your alternator/generator is too wimpy/dying.
I run an 80 amp 1 wire alternator on my 1967 Camaro, and put a New starte in it 4 years ago,
along with a 2 guage negative;and 4 guage new battery cables.
I Hate being somewhere and the car doesn't want to start!
Oh if that does happen,I have "AAA +" the "plus" adds 100 mile towing.
